Item Description including Brand –
1975 Kombi
this was a project I spent a couple of years working on with plan to run as a business. My dayjob has prevented me from ever doing this. Has been
sitting in a shed covered in sheets for almost 4 years, and i’ve decided to let this baby go as I need to let the shed owners have their space back
and I am moving overseas shortly!
I saw a number of “volkbars” just like this operating in Thailand.
Its a 1975 Kombi. Professionally panel beaten, rust cut out, panels replaced and sprayed.
Fully certified with vic roads via registered engineers certification for the modifications (open hinging roof)
Motor runs well (is original), never broken down or had a problem.
It had a new battery put in about 2 months before I put it into storage, though I doubt it would still be good given it has sat still for so long.
As mentioned and you can see in photos I did a lot of work to this myself. Walls lined with aluminium checkerplate, rubber type carpet on floor roof
has vinyl with 200 odd eyelets placed with bud lights poking through. Would all be easily removed replaced to suit you.
New seat covers put on, relined front door inserts myself with black vinyl.
Rego is current to about September 2010 I think
Can’t think of much else but pictures are there. I have many more photos if you’re interested.
Item Cost – am at a loss as to price, i have spent probably $25K (and hundreds of hours) but realise I’d struggle to ever get close to this back.
Would seriously consider offer in the order of $12K. Admit it is an urgent sale as mentioned I am about to move overseas
Contact for me – best is my email nash_megan@hotmail.com as I rarely check the forum but will try to.
Can email more pictures if requested
Cheers

Very impressive and at around 12k looks a bargain.

That looks amazing, but it seems like a lot of work just to sell drinks. Does it have any bar-related fixtures inside, like fridges or ice boxes? I
can see this being of great interest as a promotional tool for various companies. Companies such as Red Bull and other major brands often have unique
vehicles like this for handing out samples or even just attracting attention at events. Have you tried offering it to any advertising companies?
Also, if you don't mind me saying so, it seems a shame that it opens out onto the driver's side. If it opened to the left then you could park it by
the side of the road and open out onto the kerb to attract the attention of passers-by, but with the right-hand side opening it can only really be
used when parked in some kind of showground. Perhaps this isn't much of an issue as you may not be legally allowed to sell things from a van on the
side of the road, I'm not sure on the rules. Anyway, the van is beautiful and good luck with the sale!
