QLD- 2001 TDI SYNCHRO MANUAL SWB 160,000km
The prospect of a new mortgage (+stamp duty etc etc) means that our T4 is up for grabs. We have just completed a 10,000km trip through NSW, blue
mountains, Canberra, Snowy mountains, Victoria and South Australia (to Streaky Bay) - the van was great and didn't miss a beat the entire trip....
Details:
2001 (MY2002) VW T4 Transporter - 2.5 TDI Manual Synchro - all the good bits! Only 160,000km
Engine
2.5L TDI 102 hp 250NM Torque. Engine runs beautifully and has done only 160,000km. The cam belt changed @128,000 km and last service was @ 154,000 km.
There is no need to slow down for hills and overtaking is a breeze (even road trains travelling at 110km/hr). The 9 year old original battery was
replaced in melbourne and is only 3 months old. Great ecomomy.
Running gear
5 speed manual with all wheel drive on demand with vw's synchro system. This got us through many slippery roads in the snowies, sandy tracks along
the south australian coast and stable as in driving rain - feels like a you're getting pushed along from behind - the difference between this and 2
wheel drive is amazing.
Suspension
The van is raised about 4cm front and rear using German Project zwo springs at rear and Bilstein shocks all round. Front CVs were done 15,000 km
ago
Interior
Fully lined Semi campe. The rear seat (with 3 child restraints) converts to a bed and the front seats are captain's chairs which swivel to face the
rear. The van is lined with a caravelle interior including sound insulation. The driver's side middle window pivots at the top so you can open it
when its raining. There is a 3 month old Pioneer CD/radio with aux in for your Ipod or eight track. the van is also wired for dual batteries. Windows
were tinted 3 months ago. Above all the van has tonnes of room.
Exterior
Extras include a factory rear spare tyre mount and mounts and wiring for driving lights (The lighs themselves are not included - I've had them for 12
years and can't seem to part with them). The body has a few bumps and scrapes, the worst of which is an obligatory scrape along the sliding door. The
body is fully galvenised so no rust.
Asking $13,000 negotiable
