Getting quotes to get this to the Uk but not sure it's the best plan. Done some sums based on that cost and what storage is costing in Oz so putting
it up again $17,500
Was back in March, loved every minute of driving it.
loads of pics here;

1st place trophy winner in class at Australia's largest VW show on first day out against very strong competition.
Where to start…in no particular order

Starter motor rewound, overhauled by specialist, Bosch parts
New German exhaust system
95% of all metal inc nuts/bolts fittings cad plated for refitting inc wheel bolts. Or new.
New high quality heavy duty battery
New driver and passenger doors
New German door rubbers
All window rubbers new
All rubber seals new
Underside solid and sealed, also under wheel arches
Engine bay/cargo floor painted with hard wearing Terratex paint
All VW colours used (body as per 1969 Australian Brochure & American cargo area spec)
New headlining/ sun visors
Seat frames powder coated, seats reupholstered & new covers
New doorcards
New steering wheel
New Hella rear light lenses
Original gearbox/new couplings – shifts like new
All new hoses and cables
Waxoyled thoroughly in all cavities, behind doors, inside panels etc
Rear door cards for all panels – both length for the sliding door (I’ve fitted a full length panel and attached with correct new chrome headed
fittings, I have the half-length version too as per factory)
..and a thousand other things forgotten. It’s really been a labour of love. The van was found in good original condition bar an overspray in non VW
colour so had to be restored faithfully, I couldn’t see it mucked about with (on my watch). I’ve tried to keep to as original spec where possible.
I’ve hauled about 40 sacks of mulch in it and it loves to be loaded, drives beautifully and smooth, the gear changes and ride are like new. As I
understand it the van spent its life until 1984 as a TV delivery vehicle in Country Victoria, which is a very dry environment. It appears not to have
been on the road since then. First re-registered (with same number plate digits) in NSW in May 2009 - came out of rego today (14th May) - umming and
arring whether to get it done or ship it.
Does it deserve this? haha
That is a sweet looking bus good luck with the sale. Bit chilly over there!!
Cheers,
Yeah not the easiest of winters on cars, did have a really good shot of the Golf covered completely but lost it. Newspaper talks of ice-cream weather
