1959 beetle for sale. Original 6 volt.
Price: $5,000 ono
Location: Lalor Park 2147, Sydney
Reason for selling: I work 5kms from home and I’ve been cycling to work for well over a 1 ½ years and I’m not using the beetle as much as it
deserves. Plus I’d like to get start working on some other projects so I guess it’s time to move it on.
Contact: Warren on 0415 544 526, inspections welcome but tires kickers aren’t.
Plates don't come with the sale.
I'll be at the winter cruise if you want to take a look.
Happy to assist with getting the beetle onto a trailer but the buyer needs to organise transport.
You could easily drive this baby interstate.
Passed NSW pink slip and will come with 12 months rego which starts 15th June 2010.
Service completed by Hans at Klaack Motors in Fairfield, Sydney. Hans knew I was going to sell it so I asked him to give it a really good going over.
Anyone who knows Hans will know he does that anyway. Adam even mentioned it’s got one strong 1200 motor in it.
I can happily sit on 90 and 100 and accelerate off with no problems.
Beetle was picked up from Junee, told it was owned by a few people in and around Junee. Looks like it was a country car all its life because it’s a
very dry car. Only rust I can find is a few small surface patches on the front bonnet and back of the roof.
It’s been repainted in an orange/brown colour at some point which comes up well. Original colour can been seen, flint grey by the looks of it.
It’s still got the KCD stamps on the back plate near the glove box and on the rear spring plate
Guards show signs of wear and tear but nothing major.
No signs of ever being in an accident
Tyre tread is excellent on all 4 + spare wheels
Pan section under the battery replaced at some point by one of the previous owners. Rest of the pans are in great shape.
Very strong 1200 motor.
Semaphores are not connected up, lenses aren’t cracked.
Roof lining 90% complete and will get around town.
Wires for the interior light there but no light installed
Front seats are in excellent condition (black trim)
Back seat has been painted black at some point but is in good condition otherwise
Engine cover has the hinge pop riveted on but it’s strong. Was going weld this up but haven’t gotten to that yet.
I’m sure you can see what is not original on the beetle, this is how I picked up the beetle.
Incorrect steering wheel and indicator
After market front indicators, they work.
50/50 rear brake and indicator
Here’s a list of the things I’ve done or replaced since I’ve had the beetle:
New 6 volt battery
Replaced regulator which had been reconditioned
New brushes
New 6 bolt coil
New fuel lines with clamps
Removed the petrol tank and tank filter and cleaned
New fuel filter
New maroon seatbelts (x4) with the Wolfsburg logo, 5th black seat belt in the middle back seat
New accelerator cable
New generator belt
New back window rubber installed (chrome trim not put in but supplied)
2x back passenger window rubber supplied but not fitted (chrome trim insert style) I was thinking of pop outs so they haven’t been installed yet.
Removed the trim around the back window and luggage shelf and wire wheeled it clean as the old back window rubber was leaking. No rust at all on the
window frame. See pictures.
Indicator returns when you come out of a corner
If you want any more pics let me know, happy to supply.

Semaphores aren't connected up, I've never tested them.
Took her out today, starts first time and just purs down the road. Lucky new owner will be very happy.
Price drop to 5k ono. I haven't paid for the greenslip and rego yet so if anyone wants it from interstate make me an offer.
