Wasn't this only just sold on Carsales??

stubai - August 2nd, 2010 at 01:19 PM

three months ago? I am not sure because I didnt buy it from carsales. The photos will hopefully be up tommorow. I am really looking for an L-Bug as a project and there is really only so many bugs that you need really.

I remember this car and it was awesome last time I saw it.

I also know that Stuart spent months searching for just the right car after a few dead ends, so it'll be a great buy for whoever picks it up!

Hey Guys, Some photos are now up. The rego is until march in case you missed that edit and the car is in great condition. There are a few minor paint blemishes but could be fixed at home by an ameteur, as you can see from the photos it is a great quality duco. The mods are all done professionally and I have the engeneering certificate to prove it.

As I said price is negotiable and I truly think the first person to drive it will buy it. The engine was completley overhauled about 8k miles ago and I am happy to run through any details with anyone who is genuinley interested in buying him.

All offers will be considered.

This is one of my all time favourite cars, it looks as though it's in the same condition as when I first saw it many many many years ago drag racing at Oran Park for the VW nationals.
I think this car was so ahead of it's time, whoever ends up with it is getting a little peice of Aussie vw history.
Looks even better with the Simmons wheels.
regards
jak

Nice car. I too remember this Bug from yonks ago...

Sides - September 9th, 2010 at 09:17 PM

Wow... pretty sure I saw that bug at Valla way back in 95 !!!

From a history point... well back then Jak's car still had an aircooled engine (and was known as Poobug I think ???), while Jezebel was my daily driver with a whopping 1640 and Kads !!!

Still a very sweet ride...

cnfabo - September 9th, 2010 at 09:26 PM

Yup, was definatley at valla in 95 ;)

seeing as everyone else is cracking out the old time pics of it

That wierd time way back when, when valla was nearly all beetles and hardly a splitty in sight

matberry - September 10th, 2010 at 08:30 AM

Yep, I remember it's debut at a Jamboree around then. It was one of the first (if not the first) turbo subi conversions IIRC.

stubai - September 13th, 2010 at 08:14 AM

Sorry Haven't been back to check for a while. Thanks for the photos etc guys. It's nice to learn a bit more of his history. Still up for sale but the longer he seems to be around the less I want him to be sold :-) LOL

Ollie - September 13th, 2010 at 03:04 PM

Keep him stu!!! I want to see it in the flesh when I get back from my holiday! You'll hate to see it go!

Googlebot - September 17th, 2010 at 04:57 PM

What kind of power would this be putting out, roughly?

PAZZAN - September 17th, 2010 at 07:30 PM

what gearbox & brakes is it running???????

stubai - September 22nd, 2010 at 01:20 PM

Sorry for the late reply.
It is an Lbug box, 4 speed. No prblems at al with that and the brakes (pretty sure) front discs and backdrums. I will check the paper work on that but pretty sure thats right.

Essentially the shift is very bug like but its a good box reco'd and changes nicley. Brakes are fine I did an emergency stop the other day when a bike pulled out in front of me and I was surprised at the stopping power.
