After 18 months of working on my caravelle and spending a shit load of money on it, ive decided to sell it. She is a 1986 caravelle part camper. It is
Registered as a 7 seater but have removed the far back seats and installed a full length bed and a poptop. It still has the middle seat in place and
the back seat will come with the car.
Below are the improvement I have done in the last 12 months.
I completed a subaru ej22 engine conversion 12 months ago. The engine was out of a 1993 Liberty with 138,000km and was compression tested with good
results. I have since done about 25,000km. A full servive was completed on the engine before installing including timing belt, water pump. The car has
been fully inspected since by SA Transport and is registered with the subaru engine conversion. Whole conversion cost without labour $4100
New genuine Radiator and 18inch thermo fan
Reco Transmission with external oil cooler (50,000km).
New KYB sport shocks
2 new Front Ball joints
New 16" Merc steel rims with Yokohama off road tyres (85% tread)
New Century Heavy duty Battery
Phillips 80% brighter headlight globes with all new headlight relays and heavy duty wiring harness.
$650 Sony sound system including amp and top end 6x9's.
The car was professionally resprayed a number of years ago and is still in good shape. The body isn't perfect, but rust 99% rust free. The worst is
the left rear wheel arch. It has the very comfortable Caravelle interior that is in good nick but has some stains on carpet and small mark on seats.
It has air-conditioning installed but haven't hooked it up since the new engine, but have all you need to get it installed.
Things that need repairing or replacing are the back door gas struts, back sliding door trim, tacho not working, exhaust needs attention and probably
a few other things that I will get around to fixing before selling
I have spent over $8500 in the past 12 months not including what the car cost me. The Van is by no means a show piece, but have built it up to be a
great cruiser that is good on or off road and will cruise along the highway at 110kph with ease.
Price drop to $4995 minus the sound system and spot lights....Need gone asap...

Do not you want to rent your VW? I am a good tenant and return VW to you in good condition.
I would like to buy but the price exceeds my budget.
