I am offering up for sale my 1965 Holden HD Special Wagon.
It is in excellent condition, and been well looked after its whole life.
Exterior features the original Apollo Turqoise colour with Fowlers Ivory roof, which has been repsrayed a few years ago.
It has a front sun visor, and rear spats, also finished in Folwers Ivory. Body is extremely straight and there is no rust anywhere.
All original chrome strips are there and intact. Original badges still there also. Bumpers are straight and in good condition, as is the grille, and
mesh headlight covers. It also has a towbar fitted, and the rear window is electric. I also had the bonnet and tailgate pinstriped a few weeks ago
It has original chrome hubcaps and dress rings with white steel wheels. 2 new front tyres, and rear tyres are about 80% tread.
Suspension is lowered all round using 2" king springs in the front, and 2" king springs in the rear, with 1.5" lowering blocks.
All bushes, balljoints and shocks have been replaced within the past year.
Interior is all original and has not been re trimmed! It features full vinyl upholstery, and the factory rubber flooring.
It has a Sanyo flip down CD head unit with remote, and ipod connetion. Front has 6" 2 way speakers, and 6x9 2 ways in the rear.
It has had seatbelts fitted front and rear, and is registered as a 6 seater.
Originally it had a 179 and 2 speed Powerglide, but that has been upgraded to a 202 Blue block with red head, and a Trimatic 3 speed Auto box.
It runs and drives like a dream. Never missed a beat. Also has a new chrome louvred Air Cleaner, and chrome tappet cover.
It has extractors and a full 2 1/4" exhaust system.
Diff was rebuilt a few years ago, and new brakes installed. Up front it has a HT disc brake conversion, and a VH44 booster installed, so it stops just
as well as it goes!! Everything works as it should!
The 05LAM plates pictured are not included, but it will have QLD plates HDA 65 upon sale. I may organise a roadworthy if the price is right. Rego til
October.
This car is driven daily and has never let me down. It always turns heads wherever it goes, and attracts a lot of attention at shows. It definately
looks better in person. Photos don't do it justice. I guarantee the first person to view it will fall in love and take her home.
I'm not in a rush to get rid of it, so don't lowball me.
Swaps and trades considered.
PM me or TEXT 0413 716 710 as I can't always answer calls. Or call (07)5641 0174 7:30-4 weekdays and ask for Dave

Doesn't Necessarily have to be rat.
I've had a couple beetles before, and after seeing a few nice ones at Greazefest, i just had to get another dub. Not fussed what it is - Kombi,
Beetle, Type 3.
Driving one yesterday didn't help the cause either. lol
But, yes, HD's are pretty rare now. Especially in this condition.
I would swap my Kombi for it, but I dont think its in the same price range :-(
What model is it?
It's a 1974 Panel / Pop top, unrestored.
Ah, Not a fan of pop tops.
Price Drop - $8900.....
SOLD! Who's got a nice early Beetle they wanna sell me??
