It's official my single is up for sale. I've been playing with the idea for a while but and have decided it's the right time.
There are a few pics in this thread as well as some
below.
Engine/gearbox- SOLID 2ltr that i purchased from Volksfactory here in Adelaide. They put a seal kit through it and gave it a once over. It was checked
by GHR after I installed it and had 130+ PSI in all 4 cylinders so it is a+. I have fitted a pertronix electric ignition as well as having all tinware
and pipes sandblasted and powder coated. The carbies have been professionally rebuilt in the last 18 months. The SC has been serviced regularly by
either Cartek or GHR and if something needed doing it has been done. Exhaust technology have built a fully custom exhaust which is awesome but
starting to leak at one head (they didn't replace the copper gaskets) I am happy to fix this before sale. Gearbox is excellent and makes no sounds
shifts into all gears effortlessly.
Body- both doglegs are full of bog as are sills on each side all reasonable repairs but would need to be cut and welded if you were to resto. I have
pulled off the tray and repaired the rust (see pics in thread above) in the support beams and then replaced the tray with aluminium checker plate.
There is some bog in both the roof and the nose but this is filling dents not covering rust. Gates are all 95% solid with rust in some of the hinges
and slight bowing but reasonably straight overall.
Paint- Originally Reef blue but has had the outside resprayed in the last 10 years. Paint job is average at best, looks great from 10m but when you
really inspect it it has some areas where the paint is flakey.
Suspension/brakes/wheels- Indian adjusters have been installed and the beam has been cleaned and painted. I replaced all balljoints, tie-rods and tie
rod ends, beam bushes and fitted a HD sway bar. The rear has been slammed to match the front and the rear bump stops have been shortened to
accommodate. New brake pads up front and shoes and wheel cylinders in the rear in the last 18 months. Rolling on 16" Merc rims with 1 month old
rubber on the back and 50% rubber up front.
Interior- re-trimmed seats and door-cards with great condition original headlining and floor mat. Dash had a stereo hole cut in so I installed a
MP3/CD pioneer head unit with 6" 3-ways in the doors and 6"x9" 3-ways under the seat. Also installed is a VDO oil temp gauge in the empty clock
location with the sender welded into the sump plate.
Misc- 3 rib tonneau has been made and is drum tight. It uses press-studs and velcro all the way around and both keeps stuff dry and stops the gates
rattling.
I am after $8000 but will consider trading for early 60's bug+cash or early type 3+cash. I have receipts for more than what i'm asking so I wont be
dropping the price. I'm happy to hold onto it but could use the cash at the moment.
