[FS - NSW] 1970 Beetle. Sydney - Now at Stock height

With some regret I am offering up Nails for Sale.

This car is well known around these parts and has some great History. Acquired by my wife's grandfather in the early 70's it was for a period used as his 'official' vehicle as he executed his duties as the mayor of Berwick VIC. He reportedly would remark that there was no need for the Statesman when he already had a perfectly good car.

It was given to us six years ago and has been a daily driver since then. This car has been super reliable and the 88,600 miles on the clock is the original milage. In time I've had it it has only once broken down and that was a snapped clutch cable.

Serviced regularly it has in the last 12 months also had all new brakes and bearings. It goes and stops perfectly. Engine is stock 1500.

Interoir is as close to original as possible (exception being the radio block plate). The Vinyl is in good shape with the only issue being around the seam on the drivers side (see pics).

The body and paintwork are not perfect. I have cut what rust I knew of and am aware of but I urge anyone interested to come and inspect for themselves.

It has some period accessories - Front dash parcel tray, rear venetian, and mesh headlight guards.

ball joint spindles won't fit a 63 early model...
