Hey guys
After a Beetle with Disc Brakes on the front and an engine with the capacity of 1500cc or larger - the bigger the better
And little or no rust (a big ask?) is preferable.
I have a budget of approximately $10,000.
Is this a realistic aim?
Im located in Sydney and something I can inspect easily would be great.
Cheers
Hi
there are always beetles for sale on ebay...
and usually plenty on here for sale
You should get a good rust free car for $10,000
the 1968 >1970 Beetle had front disc brakes and 1500cc engines. Most would probably be 1600cc by now...
Superbugs from 1971 model had front discs and 1600 engine
The L Beetle [1303} with large curved windscreen was also 1600 engine with disc brakes.
The 1976 Beetle [last model in Australia] has front discs, 1600 engine and IRS rear suspension.. and the same windscreen as the 1968 beetle..
cheers

10k could get your something solid... I built my 59 for less than that... Disc brakes, narrowed, dropped spindles, 1916cc... It helps if you can do some of the work yourself though!
Yeah sweet Brass Munky - cheers
Love the numberplates!!
Anywhere I can check out some pics of your bug?
Thanks also Lee.I think I prefer the pre early '70s.In what year did all the problems with the rust in the little rear window vents begin due to the
water getting trapped in the foam? From what I have read i believe the 1302/1303 have a fair few problems.
true 1302/1303 have a bit of a problem with rust - but they come with a lot of standard benefits
12V, disc brakes, indicators, suspension that works.
You need to choose they style of car you want and go for that
Your budget is fair to get a good car
this is GREAT value and still available

PS: the beetles with the flow thru ventilation vents behind the rear side windows can have a lot of rust problems...
1971 Models >> had them...
the 2003 beetles made in Mexico had the groove in the side..
but NO VENTS... lol
I'd check out that car....
