FS SA: Chopped 74 bay
schnidlee - March 12th, 2012 at 08:16 PM

Well I always said I would never give up on this and sell it as unfinished project but I have finally found a split. The minister of finance has said it's one or the other and the split is the bus I would rather have. No new bus until this is gone so I NEED this gone ASAP.

This was the first VW I ever owned and chopping the roof was a mistake, yeah I admit it was a stupid thing to do to a really solid bay, ahh the power of hindsight. The chop is approx three inches which was two vents. It was carried out by a panel beater in Lonsdale.

This thing looks awesome and with a few more man hours could be a great drag bus or even daily if you have the guts. All the doors and rear hatch have been cut down to suit but the slider was done poorly, included is a new slider and also a pair of front doors. The a pillars are a little average too and I had planned to re-skin them.

Included in the sale
-Spare slider and front doors
-1600 box
-dash, gauge cluster etc
-REAR seat only
-average bumpers
-front beam, complete disk to disk
-all rear suspension components and breaks
-4x stock rims
-NO ENGINE
-replacement sills both sides
-replacement panel for the passenger side in front of the rear wheel arch
-replacement front floor sections (both sides) not really needed as no holes.
-boxes of misc parts such as door handles, mechs etc not all there but most is.

Imagine doing the windows Reub . Super cool though.

The only window that will be tricky is the windscreen. Everything else is flat so could be cut easy or there is the option of going plastic. Check out volksrod.com those guys have cut down windows plenty of times just takes patience.

The windscreen on my bug was pretty straight forward. Instant windscreens actually just cut down a stock 68 windscreen to suit.
Hotrodders do this stuff all the time :) (as do volksrodders)

Now on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200730305128?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid...

Starting bid $500, no reserve first bid gets it. It cost me more than that to get a second roof for the chop, this is dirt cheap.
