What sort of kombi are looking for, what sort of coin are you asking for it?

Burrelli - May 30th, 2012 at 11:25 PM

Very cool car.

Was this the car that was on ebay a year or so ago?

coletrickle - May 31st, 2012 at 08:21 AM

That's the one from Scorpio motors?

rastababy - May 31st, 2012 at 09:18 AM

Looking to swap for Kombi (1969 - 1972) - not looking to sell though! :)

MISS VDUB - May 31st, 2012 at 09:39 AM

You really are limiting your options. Not all kombi drivers wants beetles, or are willing to swap (a lowlight at that). Standard beetles admittedly arent the most desirable. I do like their simplicity and there are less numbers on the roads due to them not being as popular originally when sold.

I would suggest being open to sell, and then buying yourself a kombi otherwise you may be waiting a while.

GASBNR - May 31st, 2012 at 10:56 AM

I disagree with the standard complete Ash,

Standard are cool:D

MISS VDUB - May 31st, 2012 at 11:04 AM

Re-read and stop looking at the pretty pictures Ol ;) I said i like their simplicity, but they arent everyones cup of tea!

GASBNR - May 31st, 2012 at 11:18 AM

Simple how I like it:cool:

MISS VDUB - May 31st, 2012 at 11:34 AM

No comment

coletrickle - May 31st, 2012 at 11:36 AM

Has any of the body externals been painted in 2 PAC?thanks

rastababy - May 31st, 2012 at 07:54 PM

Ash - thanks for the advice but (personally) i disagree - theres enough chrome and "bling" out there and its good to see the original Standards, as basic and as rare as they are, still out there testifying to a simpler, purer form of the Veedub.....for me it shows the true beauty of the Bug, and a period in Veedub history, without the make-up and earings that comes with all the chrome and extras.

At the end of the day.....each to their own and we all own the Veedub that resonates with us. Im not interested in selling her and, if the right Kombi comes along, I will consider swapping her purely because of family needs. If no swap is possible, thats absolutely fine - I'll keep my baby girl for the next 17.5 years until my little man is old enough to enjoy her beauty as well! :)

If you know of, and if anyone out there is interested in a swap, I'd be greateful to hear from you.
Peace and love to you all! :)

coletrickle - June 1st, 2012 at 09:38 PM

You say original? So does that mean that all of the paint on the outside of the bug was applied at the Vw factory in Australia?I would be intrested in an answer.

MISS VDUB - June 1st, 2012 at 10:12 PM

What exactly are you disagreeing with, the fact I said I love their simplicity? Read what I wrote...

We have seen your car around a lot as we have only just moved from Mount Nebo , it's looks quite tidy from what we could see :tu:

GedPalmy - June 2nd, 2012 at 08:27 AM

theres enough chrome and "bling" out there

Too true rasta baby

hang onto the standard and buy a low liight

My standard was my mum and dads and in the family since new.

They bought it because they couldnt afford any other. I love reserve tank, 6volt and a drizzle of cool

keep it!

rastababy - June 2nd, 2012 at 09:48 AM

Hmmm.... I hear what you're all saying - it'd kill ne to see her go but if a decent Kombi came along, I would swap - family needs must. Of course if I had the coin, I'd keep her and get a Kombi as well....but I don't so a swap is the only way to go right now!

Coletrickle - I do think there has been a respray at some point in her life - not sure if it's 2pac...wouldn't know how to tell....:/

coletrickle - June 2nd, 2012 at 10:15 AM

Thanks mate,Im pretty sure I've looked at this bug and the respayed bits put me off other than that she's a pretty nice standard,I'm dreaming but there's still some orignal paint standards out there that's what I'm looking for.Standards arnt for most people, they just don't get it!best of luck.glad you know what you've got some people get a standard and put chrome or worse still flames on it!

rastababy - June 4th, 2012 at 01:22 PM

Quick update - would be willing to swap for a later Kombi (highlight) with a Type 1 engine

GedMcCormick - June 6th, 2012 at 07:05 PM

Look at the killer split 66 swap at the start of this forum....he wants a 63 beetle part trade....:sniffle:

rastababy - June 11th, 2012 at 05:47 PM

Yeah.....saw the '66 Splitty......he'd probably want my car AND a small mortgage to swap!! :)
