This really surprised me to see this on ebay.
Older long time members of Club VeeDub will know this car and unfortunately the original builder (my old school mate) passed away about 2 years ago at
43.
Not sure if anything has been altered since I last saw it, but all I can remember is saying how much I would love to own this car. Others will be able
to tell you more about it and whom Rob (Bob) sold it to etc. I recall it had a wicked motor in it though.

This is a photo of the car at Rob's funeral, it was brought along in his respect and for his family members to see it again.
Can this please be left in this section out of respect of an old friend please.
Thanks, Kev
P.S. I have no affiliation with this sale.

Bewdiful car!
Certainly something I'd like to own as well, but alas I'd have to sell body parts first.
pity it dosent have the origional 2L engine it used to have
heaps of power
still has a sweet 2.1L motor
bluesbrothers Autos use to have this karmann ghia in their back shed for a while too. they must have a soft spot for the finest vw's
I saw it on eBay this afternoon too and recognized it from an old magazine article that had it and another yellow one with silver Porsche twists...
Correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure there was an articule on this car and another similar yellow beetle in a hot 4's / fast fours mag back in the
late 90's early 00's?
I still have the mag somewhere, I will see if I can drag it out.
wasnt this used as Vintage Vee Dubs aeroguard advertising on old 90s aussie mags?
Yeah used in advertising empi.
Pictures don't do this car justice........in the flesh it's sooo much more pristine than it appears
wonder if it still has the Gene Berg Signature
Hi
I just saw it in a car yard on Parramatta Road at Homebush.
Major, that was my old yellow bug in the Hot 4s article along with Jurgos bug.

I was racking my brain trying to remember what year this Volkswagen Australia magazine was as they didn't used to date them or follow a release
schedule.
Till I noticed at the bottom '95 nats program
17 years old and still looking brilliant
whish I had bought it
Bob did a first class job on that car and it has stood up well ! Top Bloke and I miss him
How the hell did it end up in a car yard
It's a sad day when I see Jurgo's Yellow Aero beetle in a car yard.
Someone please buy it & use it for what it was built for.

i remember seeing this for the first time i always said id build one like that one day but i just gave up i couldnt do it , he was a top bloke with time for anybody and always loved talking to people about there cars . as for blues brothers what can be said that gia they had sat there for more then a year before it sold as far as i can remember .. this beetle should be a museum piece somewhere
Now that is a crying shame ...someone take it away from this delaer ..please!
Thgis beautiful car still for sale http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1971-Volkswagen-Beetle-Yellow-M-/160843475001?pt=A...
8 offers have been made and non accepted as yet.
Wow! and at less than 25K
is it worth clubbing in 5$ off all members and dudders and keeping the legend alive? it could be taken to shows? just a thought I am in and I didn't know the bloke....just seems a shame to be lost in time......
Blues Bros are friends of the last owner who also recently passed away and the proceeds of the sale will be going to the guys family.
I recon we should start a raffle, raise the money and raffle winner gets it. Makes it easier than the whole forum owning the car and fights starting
out.
The V Force boys can give us more info of what happened to the original Berg engine.
bloody good idea
^^ $100 a ticket, 250 tickets.....who's in?
I'm in.
