motha - August 19th, 2012 at 08:26 PM

Moving on……

Genuine 4/1976 Mk1 Golf Swallowtail

1.8L K-Jet turbo

Original registration IMS 016

This is currently my daily driver, travelling 600+km a week.

First & currently still the fastest Mk1 in Aust.

12.99@107mph with a poor 60ft!

Body looks & presents itself in good condition, but in reality, its in “Fair” Rusty condition where you can’t really see it. Supplying a spare very straight & dry shell from central NSW

Interior is “Immaculate”. Very hard to find a cloth interior in this condition. Also has Diesel front sound deadening.

Supplying a new spare plain white headliner in its bag.

Can read about the cars initial build up with here

Your really buying this car for the complete running gear, suspension, brakes & interior, which would be transferred across to a nice Mk1 shell.
Will separate running gear, but prefer to sell complete, as a Jump-in-&- drive going concern.

No RWC.

Reg. till May 2013

Geelong, VIC

$8000 in as is “Current” condition

Can test drive (Definitely No tyre kickers!!!!) Have no time at all for this.

For an extra cost...

Can also supply a "Complete" Window, door weather seal kit to suit the "Stainless chrome window surround triming". Also incl. new chrome from & rear window seal beading & NOS "Volkswagen" & "GolfLS" script badging.

This is a complete kit! Inner & out scraper seals, 1/4 glass seals, door frame seals, boot seal etc etc.
This alone took me 2+ years to source one bit here & another there, as there is not one manufacturer that does a complete kit & alot of it is only made in runs bits & pieces at a time.

The list goes on & on with all the modifications, development, wiring modifications etc. etc. in building a car like this, to not only build strong, but also reliable enough to be a long distance daily driver, make good power (insane to others who've never experienced it), great fuel ecomony etc.

Anyone who’s been for a drive or driven this, can attest to how its built & drives.

All thats really to do, is prepare, paint & rebuild the other shell with the complete running gear, all the mint interior, new seal kit & you have a complete inner & outer restoration with grunt like no other Mk1 Golf in OZ!

PM for more details if required.
