Up for sale is Gloria, my 1964 VW Notchback Type 3 1500 S, sports model (twin carburators). Great project to be show car. To be sold as is, no
roadworthy. This is a rare car, I have only ever seen 1 other in Australia (and it was not S model).
Bought as a project car and worked on it some years ago, alas the passion has died and I need the space for the daily driver. Most parts and engine
original. I recently replaced the fuel pump (authentic VW part), fuel filter, spark plugs. I liked the look of white wall tires and had inserts put in
to create the look a few years ago, can be easily taken off. She's pretty low, but this is easy to reverse if you want to, just raise the torsion
bars.
Headlights no working, not sure why. Some rust spots coming up again through the paintwork. Paint seems thin and has chipped off in some places,
ideally a repaint is due. Original colour "Bahama Blue" but currently it is an attractive terquois custom colour. She takes some time to warm up,
then runs pretty well although the twin caries could use a tune by a vw mechanic to optimize the engine a bit better.
With the car comes the original Volkswagen 1500 Instruction Manual , printed August 1963; an S.P. Workshop Manual Series No.47 for Volkswagen Type 3
(for 1500N, 1500S, 1500A, 1600, 1600TL, 1600TLE. Anything else just ask, feel free to come and look/ test drive.
