Okay what have I done? I bought a couple of new tyres to replace the back ones on my 67 beetle - jacked up the car put them on (same size) let the jack down and found I had a new ride height - and the wheels look like they canter in (if the car dropped now the wheel arches would sit on the top of the tyres) - I believe the back end may be lowered slightly but can't be sure but the front end has a 4" narrowed beam - the car/wheel arches now sitting a 4 or more inches higher at the back
I cleaned a fair bit of muck from under the car but didn't adjust anything any ideas?

It's Ok. As soon as you move the car a few metres it will go back to it's normal position. Swing axles do this when they are jacked up.

Oohhh okay - thanks thought I'd broken something ! he's waiting on an engine rebuild so I just had him stationary and didn't move/drive him
