Empi Copper Exhaust nuts question
Lateral - February 11th, 2013 at 04:38 PM

Hi guys

This is the first time I have purchased these and I have a few questions:

1. Are these really "copper"?
2. Which way are they installed?
3. Why is part of the nut "split"? (see the attached photo)

Also, this is more of a generalised question but....is all EMPI stuff crap and you should never using any EMPI parts etc?

Thanks
Regards
Greg

Copper coated....

Yeah they work fine.

Split helps them stay tight

Hex side goes "down"

Little bit of antisieze is good and you will need some for your spark plugs anyhow....loctite 771

Like how you decided to stay away from the quality question Daimo !!!

EMPI stuff can be pretty hit and miss as far as quality, but IMHO it's not as bad as some people make out... really just take each part on it's own merits.

That said, I don't think I'd be using EMPI gear in the internals of my engine... CB or Berg for me there.

:tu:

Thanks guys.

Daimo, when you say "hex side down" do you mean that the "split" is facing away from the surface that you are attaching to?

Greg
