Been searching for the last hour, but no luck!
Looking at what aftermarket cam size would be good in a newly rebuilt 1600 running twin 36 dells? i was thinking 110, but could this be slightly too
big? Any other combos that could work?
lots of reading info here
http://www.aircooled.net/1800cc-vw-engine-no-machine-combo/
The suggestion seems to be SCAT C-35 Grind, Engle 110, Web 118, Web 163
Yes - this is for a 1800, but it is close to the money
I am running a Pobjoy 22/62 with dual DRLA40's
Cheers bizarre some interesting reading
A mate if mine has a 110 with ratio rockers in a 1600 and it seems fine... Although it is an off roader and not a daily drive so a really smooth running perfect engine is not real high on the priority list! You just check its running and fang it!
A Engle 110 is a very good cam, great drivability, if the rest is standard you could look at the Engle 100.
Yep, 100 with stock heads, 110 only if the heads get some work IMO, personally I wouldn't go with 1.25 rockers except on a stock cam.
If the rest is stock (except for carbs) what sort of benefits will you get out of the engle 100? Was also thinking about doing some mods to heads ,but not so sure on what would be a good combo for the 1600tp? Bare with me guys as i'm no engine builder and never claim to be.....if we were talking denitrifaction, biological P removal then i'm your man.
Are you only going to split the case for the sake of the cam??
What car?
What gearing?
How are you using the car?
Split, type 3 box, general cruising.
Have to split the case as the bottom end is stuffed.
I got the parts to build a sweet 2007cc for that bus remember?
Thats tall gearing for a split even an Engle 100 maybe too much cam in a 1600 IMO
I'd run smaller than stock tyres, some where in the mid to low 24 inch range.
i'm running 195/60/15 rear and 175/50/15 front.
2000 cc + sounds good might have to sell the 36 dells me
thinks
Good size tyres tar 24.2inch
Still taller gearing than a 2L Kombi had standard though.
36 dels would be good to make torque on a 2007 built right.
Thank for the help people, think i've made up my mind with this helpful info
So your going 2387 turbo?
CB 2234 cam with massaged stock valve heads and 36 dells merged header.......awesome combo with plenty of torque
