Hi guys
I'm sick of wire that has been in the engine bay for some time and exposed to heat getting hard are nasty looking.
Does anybody know where I can get some heat resistant wire or is there some sort of high heat resistant "heat shrink"?
Regards
Greg
You can buy a fibreglass sheave that slips over the top and is heat resistant. RS components or element 14.
Thanks mate
I was also believe that there is also wire that uses a high heat resistant silicone based outer coating...
Dont Know if this helps..but I used a Fibreglass waterproof braided sheath from an electrical wholesaler the brand is CABAC..it comes in various sizes
but unfortunately doesnt come in a rainbow of colours..Its worth going into an Electrical wholesaler and ask to have a look through there
catalogues..Anyway heres a pic of my wiring with the fibreglass sheath, heatshrinked ends and waterproof connectors..cheers Snitz
Yes you can get a silicone insulated wire, i used to use it on fire fighting systems, i think i still might have some at home some ware.

Silicon coated wire is probably the best solution but the fibreglass heat resistant sheath can be got here Heat resistant sheath
