8:1 Engine ratio, what is your compression
Camo - March 16th, 2013 at 10:54 AM

Hi all,

I know there will always be variation in relation to this question pending on cam etc, but just after a ball park figure to compare my compression.

No, I don't want to pull my motor out, strip it down and measure everything at this stage. If the motor comes out, then that is different.

So if anyone can tell me their compression ratio and what their current compression is, that would be great.

Thanks, Kev
(My brain is always thinking ;))

It really does vary heaps, leak down test would be a better check. Otherwise your mainly looking for even readings between the cylinders.

My 2275 runs a 10.8 to 1, fk87 cam and pauter 1.4 rockers, 48DRLA's, has the heads, exhaust to make it work, idles at 900rpm, drives normaly from about 1500rpm and has good usable torque, but steps it up at about 4000rpm and pulls hard from then on to the rev limiter at 7000rpm. did a compression test the other day, hot at 165 to 170 per cylinder.
