Twin port centre section - what diameter ?
Doug Sweetman - July 2nd, 2013 at 06:39 PM

Hey all, I'm in the early stages of putting a custom centre piece together which will use standard twin port end castings... I believe the diameter is something like 35mm but does anyone know where I can source tubing of this size ?

I am hoping it will be a standard size in something like ERW mild steel tube ?

Gday Doug.
Normal common-garden-gnome exhaust tubing sizes work.
1.1/2" mild steel exhaust pipe has an I.D. of 35mm (1.6mm thickness), 1.5/8" has I.D. of 38mm, etc.
Stainless exhaust tubing is usually 1.2mm thickness, so I.D. is 0.8mm bigger per size.

Hi

You will most likely use a 1600 centre size, but be aware that 1300 twin ports are smaller diameter.

Thanks guys - didn't even think of exhaust tubing, that should do the trick nicely ! Cheers
