Mid mounted gearbox support
baghall - July 11th, 2013 at 01:43 PM

Hi, bought a gearbox support that bolts to the middle section of the gearbox a while back. Was going to fit it this week but have forgotten how I weld the section to the forks and for the life mod me cannot work out how it will bolt to the car.
Can anyone help explain it with a picture please?

Thanks Bizarre but mine is a lot shorter and the rubber doesn't have bolts both sides' only one bolt which has me beat.

It depends how many posts you have displayed to a page - it is on page 2 when I look at it on my computer Barry.

Here is a photo of mine - slightly different mounts, but basically the same.

Yeah both of these sit-ups have the bar past the outside of the forks but mine only just reach the outside. The hole is under the fork.l

Could it be a solid mount set up?

Hi

I've seen some that don't have any weld on bits, they just have a bump stop that hits the fork under power.

Only a partial pic but you get the idea. I have the mounts separate if yours didn't come with any

I made up a couple of shims to put under the rubber so it was hard up against the frame horns all the time when I had mine mounted like that, I have since made up a new weld in one.
