36horse into a 1300 trans

So im lazy and sick of pushing my 58 beetle in and out of the garage, and also the Og 36horse is in the way, so i want to shove it in the beetle and
kill 2 birdies with one stone.
So who here knows how i can do this?
I have the conversion bushing for the starter already.
The 1300 trans had the collar type throwout bearing, and i know that wont work with the 36horse, so i took that off.
Different clutch? different pressure plate? put the throw out arm off a splitcase into the 1300 trans? lol
I have done a search on this a while back, and found people saying it can be done, but when it comes to info or proof, iv found none....
Any help would be appreciated!

So you have a later gbox with the guide tube for the throw out bearing?
If so then just a case of using a later style clutch pressure plate. If it's one of the multiple spring finger plates and not the old skool 3 arm
type then you just remove the collar from the centre of the spring fingers for the later bearing to sit against the fingers properly.
Pop the 12v to 6v bush in and away ya go

If you have the 6 volt starter in there you just need to fit the early non guided type throw out bearing.
I Cant vouch for if the early 6 volt bearings fit the late forks but the later 12 volt non guided ones (68-70) do.
The neighbours will love you with no muffler on that thing.

Yea i have a later gearbox in it with the bearing sleeve, I put that in to get me by with an 1835 until i get a box built and go with a larger
motor.
Putting the 36 horse back in was never the plan, but its there and taking up room, so why not.
I put the bushing in and the 6volt starter,
I will have a look at the pressure plates and clutches i have laying around here tomorrow...

The 6volt starter motor is in now with the bushing.
I will look for a 68-70 non guided bearing...
Hahaha the neighbours rent, so they get what they are given, and in this case, it is A LOT of loud cars, i weld in canons and 2 1/2 inch+ straight
through exhausts for mates and mates of mates all the time over here, aswell as lowering jobs...
I have had this 36horse running with no mufflers back when i had the body off the pan, and it is very loud, but runs so so nice...
My bug has a trans raise so even if the 36horse had a muffler, she wouldnt fit in there...
Oh, the 6volt bearings do not fit, first (only) thing i tried haha.

I think what you need is a late 180mm pressure plate that works with the late tranny/throw-out

Yup, I bought a new 180mm clutch kit from Micks and it just needed the centre platform removing for the late throw out bearing to work properly. Old
style bearing needs the platform/ring to push against whereas the later bearing pushes directly on the fingers.
