Hey all.
I picked up this 5 speed box on the weekend. Getting it ready to fit into my Baja. Just a couple of quick questions.
It has 4 little ears on the bottom side of the gearbox. The 2 on the LHS have holes drilled through them. Firstly what are they there for? (tabs for
some sort of factory install and removal cradle?)
And it doesn't matter if I can them off? They are a touch too wide and grabbing on the framehorns when I sit the box in place. I want to cut into the
horns as little as possible so I might just chop these off. Unless anyone can give a reason why not to?
Thanks all.

They are used in the machining process for the gearbox, they basically locate the gearbox in a jig. Cut them away if you don't want them.
Thanks man!
It's already been machined for the difflock shaft. So it shouldn't need any more!

Nice shifter, keep us informed how it performs. Has the gearbox got the locker boss? edit(ok so it has)
