....anyone care to guess at the latest combo that's on the way to WA from Stan Pobjoy?
Bwahahahahahah!!!!
You never know what's brewing
when it gets here there will be lovely pickchas
Far out
He's alive & dubbin!!
Ow are you Pete?
Hey Baz
Never stopped Dubbin I really should start a build thread- three years of
pictures and modifications and work on Hoobs is waiting to be uploaded
I could cheat and do one of those 'look what I did in a week' threads so it looks dead easy, but the mammoth task of sorting through the thousands
of photos would have to be taken care of first. In brief: complete home respray in 2k base/clear, custom detailed paint bits (like tank, fan housing,
glovebox (!), hood springs gauge panels speaker pods etc) lots of fibreglass fab work, some carbon fibre, removable rear valance, all new suspension
and running gear, five link kafer bars, custom gearbox from the dangerous butler, one-off Pobjoy engine (), custom headliner and interior door cards and seat covers over newly plumped seats , full gauge
cluster, complete rewire front to back (Watson's/American Autowire loom- eeeegh), SQ stereo install, remote locking and alarm system, one piece
windows (bad idea) rear poputs, LED lighting in weird places, yada yada yada...yada.
what does yada mean?
Bastard.
You have been hiding this for years, make us drool with that description, the going to rip us off with a promise of very few photos. aaaaaaahhhh

Nice K Bar
What happened to your NOS motor ?
been polishing your bellhousing again??
Turns out the NOS wasn't street legal :P it's in a box waiting to go on a dedicated 52 split drag beetle found in a barn up north
I'll have you know I don't spend time alone at home polishing my bellhousing, Baz.
The Butler did it
C'mon Pete tell us more.
My guess is 95 x 69, what heads cam etc?
76MM x 90.5MM
Gracey got it. cam is a bit wilder and the heads are made from galactic burblethwane with a custom port job on the ixtonian valve bodies. valves are
made from barilla spaghettini number 3.
can't wait til it gets here only a fewwww moooore daaaays :|

motor still not here, tracking says they've been trying to get it onto the tailgate of the truck that gets it to the other truck that moves it to the
depot in sydney next to the one they send it to Perth from. Am I impatient? yes. Have I prepared the wiring, fuel lines and ignition systems yet? no.
I should really be doing that rather than staring at the unmoving tracking details and posting here. :P
PS Berg reckons galactic burblethwane should only be used on motors running in Uzbekhistan fuelled by rat droppings. We'll soon see who's a nutter.
Berg never did know how to distill go-juice from vegetarian Uzbeki rats.
It would have been worth at least a tenth.........
A tenth iin the 1/8th mile, yes.

Did you use 5.5' rods?
Cheers
Newt
Nup..
Deep inside the bowels of the mechanical monster lies the original 15 year old [Pobjoy modified counterweighted] VW based crank which is fllinging 30year old [perfectly balanced] German original rods around
Got to love quality gear
-edited incredibly strange spelling error
Someone lashed out on some nice barrels and pistons!
Nickies??
Nickies
From all reports they should be super ultra tough, which they're going to need to be with the stupidly thin walls. Time will tell! Seeing as my old
94s lasted 15 years perfectly round and only stopped due to WATER DAMAGE while the motor was stored during the resto/painting they've got a hard act to follow, but like I said word on the
street is that they're the real deal.
From what I can see through the timber slats on the 'cage' they're real purdy
more pics when it's released (carbs are being rebuilt and freshened up while the wiring continues)
loading pictures onto this thread is annoying
..........ly easy
Carbs came back from the pros at Weber performance in Braeside Vic today. They look great turns out one of the idle screws had been jammed up so bad the seat came out with it, and there was a ton of filth in the
bowls. cant wait to reassemble all the bits :|
Will post a photo when that happens... for now here's something else that turned up the other day
should chew some battery power
