Anybody know what O rings go in these thermostats? As you can see, mine leaks
They need rebuilding out-of-the-box. The O'ring will be pinched and the bore scored. Strip, tidy and reassemble. I use new O-rings from a generic
kit. one that fits that is hydrocarbon (oil) friendly
And I prefer to mount it up the other way, so dirt and water is'nt trying to get into the circlip etc
Think thats where my problems started. Its always had a slight leak, so thought a rebuild with viton rings would be the go, got a lot worse I guess I got the wrong size. will feret around in some of the GJ kits at work.
You will need to measure the depth and width of the oring groove, there is a chart that will give you the correct section, work out the ID, use a Viton oring as suggested, I have two of these and they have never leaked, just lucky I suppose.
good advice I will look into that, Cheers
I would expect 60-70 Duro Nitrile Rubber O rings would be the go.
