Hi,
Is there any one in Australia that can do speedo resto and conversion? Mine is in MPH and I'm really sick of converting it in my head. I know in USA
they have North Hollywood Speedo that does it but I don't want to send it overseas. Any help would be recommended. Thanks
Pat
Grumble still has some of the sticker he got made up I think

I'm using a Polaris HUD in my bug, works great

Or you could look on eBay for a metric speedo.

Try Namiiss in Newcastle they repaired a lot of speedos for me when i was in the trade and also serviced a few gauges of various types.
you can't find a Km/h speedo?
I just went and bought a NOS Km/h and sold my old MPH one.

You can always have a look at
http://www.vintagecarparts.de for NOS
and used KPH speedos
and you can also check out eBay Deutschland and search for Karmann Ghia Tacho.

Thanks for the response guys. My Kg is a 1967 so it's different to the earlier KG one. Plus mine has the meddle painted red to match all of the other tachometer so I have to keep it the same but in Kmph so it doesn't look funny. I don't want to go aftermarket cos I still would like the classic look. I will try the contacts you guys gave. Thanks
I've just finished swapping the odometer gears from a KPH into an early MPH speedo. I've nearly finished the screen print for the speedo face to
read in KPH too.
BTW the early brass gears and later plastic gears mount differently so some modding to the MPH housing was necessary but works a treat
Oh, if you don't care about the odometer being correct then a re-printed face should be pretty simple
Where are you? I reckon Ringwood Speedometers in Melbourne would be worth a call
