Can't find anyone who sells castle nuts. I need to get some 19mm M12 1.25 pitch nuts.

Can't find any even on ebay.

tried several auto stores and bolt/fastener suppliers none could help.

This mob have an office in Vic. if you want to try them. Not sure if you can buy a small amount though.

haha shit, they are like literally same area where I work. I always go to metric men for bolts never knew about these guys. I'll check it out Monday.

nah, this is a modification to another car.

modifying aftermarket tie rod ends to take castle nuts instead of crappy nylocs which always come undone for me.

its funny how these days you have to modify "OEM type" parts to bring them back actual OEM specs. A joke and a half.

OK, this is probably the apprentice advising the tradesman BUT I have made my own in the past (not for automotive purpose) I had a longer nut with the correct thread and using a 100mm sidegrinder I cut the slots in the end of the nut, worked ok and saved me a trip to the shop BTW I always thought they were called castellated nuts, not that it makes any difference.

Already looked at that. can't find nuts long enough. Needs to be at least 50% taller than whats available off the shelf to work. M12 1.25 isn't even off the self in standard form either. Its metric extra fine.

The old castle nuts I have are close to 20mm tall for a 19mm M12 nut. standards are 10mm- 12mm tall. I could get away with 15-16mm and cut a slot like you said. But its all major headache now.

Might have to go to a wrecker and pick some good 2nd hand ones.

btw. castlelated is what I thought too. but castle and slotted nut seems to be the correct term used by the bolt suppliers and catalogs online.

What I have is a slotted nut.

I reckon I might have founds very close to spec nuts in the UK.

try fastener specialists in albury nsw 02 60235171. they bought a big lot of NOS a few years back they might have something.

only major concern is they aren't high tensile. But for the sake of possibly having no other choice I got them anyway.

I got them! not exactly the same but more than capable for the job. How I am happy.
