External reg Alternator Output/Fusible links

Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone knows the output on the early Bosch external regulator alternators? I have one on my Type 1 motor and the markings
on its sticker are long gone.
Need to know as I want to run a fusible link on the lead from the battery to the alternator. Also want to run one for the main power lead to the fuse
box if anyone has suggestions on the rating for that too? No fancy accessories on this one not even a stereo.

I believe most alternators are 55A, altho there are 75 and 95A available.

G'day Mat, thats the number that pops into my head too, I got it quite a while ago so it is probably a 55A, bugger, I just ordered a 50amp fuse and
holder, guess ill use that for the main harness feed. And get a 70/80amp fuse to be safe for the alternator. Thanks mate.

The Bosch externally regulated Alternators were 50amp, the Motorola ones were 55amp.
Is it only on the feed from the alternator or the main battery feed?
I run a 100amp circuit breaker on mine

Yeah mate that's the one, the feed from the alternator to the battery, I want to put a main fuse in for the run from the battery to the fusebox too
though. I don't like the unfused circuits in wiring harnesses.. OK I will get a few bigger fuses, I have a couple of the big maxi fuse holders to
use.

If its only the B+ feed from the alternator 50amp will be ample.
I'd use the same on the feed to the fusebox so you can keep a few spares in the glovebox.
I only use 100amp on mine as it has the electrical load of a modern car with the A/C, engine management, stereo system etc.

Cool thanks mate, that is the size fuses I ordered anyway. Good guesstimate! Still trying to figure out a good place to put a amp/speakers that is
away from prying eyes.. not having much luck.. Thanks again

I've got my amps under the front seats, you have to stand on your head if you want to see they exist and if you don;t want speakers on display in the
rear parcel shelf with a light carpet over the top and front kick panels works well.

Its going in my Manxter to I don't have kick panels, Im shit out of luck there, I had thought of making up a "tool box" behind the back seats with
everything in that.. Ill have to see how creative I can get.
