Speedo repair

Is it possible to buy repo dials for T3 kombi speedos?
Also how hard is it to replace and recondition a speedo, i'm good with a screwdriver but have never tackled something like this before?
Thanks

Why does it need reconditioning? Does it not work?

Very simple to clean and re-lube but unless broken or trying to change from MPH to KPH then no reason to dismantle.

Re-calibrating requires specialised tooling.

It's more it needs a new facia as far as I now. Currently not working but haven't had a chance to check why as yet. Just preparing myself for the worst psimitar. PLan on looking at it this weekend.

Well the needle should work so long as the square drive in the base of the input shaft hasn't become round over the years. And so long as the shaft turns freely then not really much else can go wrong with that.

as for the odometer. That is turned by gears driven off the input shaft. Later plastic gears can be ground away much easier than the early brass gears.

If you can find something to pop in a drill chuck that fits the square drive of the speedo then a very quick way to check if it still works. :)
