Hey I think ive wired this bug wrong, damn you james boags !!
Just tried starting but it wont fire, but the ignition coil feels like its on fire. I got one wire from the negative on it to to the distributor,
and a cable from the starter to positive, and a cable from the alternator to positive as well. Also could the coil be stuffed now?
Should be a black wire to the coils positive terminal. This wire comes from the ignition switch so nothing to do with the starter. If you've taken a
wire directly from the large starter power wire stud then the coil is permenantly on. This will make the coil heat up.
Then the coils negative terminal should have a wire coming from the points within the dizzy.
What sort of coil is it?
Make sure that you do not have a resistor coil. eg GT40R
Is the GT40R made by Nissan ? and isn't a samba a dance ? and why is there still a Audi in your avatar ?
