Hi I have a 91 T3 caravelle auto that seems to be using way too much fuel, can any body give me feedback on how many liters per 100 km you are getting
from your T3
thanks
Autos are thirsty buggers
My T3 Caravelle auto gets 6km/L inner city rubbish and 10km/L cruising the high way
I'd have thought 10km/L (10L/100km) is pretty good
thanks
im getting 15 l to100k
looks like i.ve. got a bit of work to do
The other weekend we did 1000kms going Sydney to Coonabarraban to Gunnedah and back to Sydney.
All on a tad over 100 L

away seems to be a mixture of both freeway and city, i replaced the injectors with second hand ones and no change to consumption van runs well though.
15l for 100km sounds about right.
how much money do you have to spend to save money on fuel, its a catch 22
best to run a good oil, keep tyres up around 40psi & 95 pump gas and don't carry a car full of stuff that you don't need
and roof rack also bugger thing up.
if your worried about cost of fuel Toyota yaris is the way to go.
engine transplant time!
Thanks for help
no transplant needed
van runs great
just wanted an idea of consumption
as I was thinking of buying a new set of injectors,
didn't think it would ever get under 10 l per 100 though
maybe its worth a try

I am surprised about 10Km/L or 10l/100k as I have never achieved that.
My auto T3 doublecab with only 90,000 kls from Melbourne to Yamba, empty and 1 person on board achieved best at 14l/100k.
It is slightly worse around town.
I am now changing to Subaru ez30 6 cyl 3 litre and expect to get much better fuel consumption.
Power goes from 70 odd kilowatts to 160 kilowatts.
Will be on the road next week.
yeah bigger engine for bigger vehicles almost always give better economy, unless its a turbo small displacement engine.
A larger engine will pucker along making more torque and power with less rpm, less throttle and can do it with leaner AFR due to being on lighter load
comparative to engine size.
You be very close to exceeding that economy with an injected v8 but certainly the sweet spot will be a 6 cylinder.
