Seatbelts

Anybody in Queensland know if you're legally allowed to run harnesses instead of the standard seat belts? (In a 64 beetle)

If so, what brands are ADR approved?

there are a few ones that are approved, normally 4 point with a normal seatbelt buckle. You will need to probably get the mounting points engineered/blue plated.

It may not matter in a '64. I don't think that you even need seatbelts at all.

True you don't need them but if you fit them you have to have them engineered. I'm not sure who would drive without them even if you are allowed.

Go to a VW show you will see plenty.

Weither they are approved or not is another story, I have two cars with approved harnesses, just need to have a two seat conversion done at the same time. that is one condition my engineer stipulated.
