Cylinder head cracks - where?

hi guys, couldnt find this on the site.
wondering where the common cracks occur in the cylinder heads?
about to build a type 3 1600 motor and would like to check.

The most common place for crack is between valve seats and / or between spark plug hole and one or both valve seats..

As I understand it, cracks between valve seats can be tolerated but cracks between valve seat and spark plug hole are not good. Obviously no cracks is best! Good luck.

Don't forget to check inside of the exhaust port.
Between the seat and where the valve guide pokes into the port.

Bloody hell they crack there too?? How many have you seen like that Dave? I went through half a dozen s/h heads for the bosses cheap K/g motor build and seen heaps of cracks as mentioned and just ended up buying new ones.. :rolleyes:
