Hey guys,
I'm running twin 48IDF's on a 2276, and I'm noticing there is a splutter through the revs, particularly under medium load acceleration. It makes
putting around a big of a chore, and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. If I mash the Go-Pedal from a standing start, it seems to miss the
cough.
I'm thinking it could be something to do with the Carbys, or would an exhaust leak also maybe be something to look for?
Cheers in advance!
Ollie
I would try a blocked idle jet first
Pull a lead one at a time at idle and see if one makes no difference
Even thought the car has no problems at all idling?
Does this happen around 2,000 to 2,500 rpm? Dave

Make sure your linkages are well synchronised.
Hi Ollie,
Yes, it is the entire main jet circuit that needs tuning. That includes main, air correction and emulsion tube.
Do you know what size jets and emulsion tubes you have at the moment? What size venturis and idle jets too?

Is this something that has developed lately or something that was always there?
Sorry for the slow replies!
As long as I've had the carbys it's been there..I don't drive it too much but it's gotten worse of late. I've also worked out if I'm at lower
revs in say fourth or third, and just sit at the trouble spot, it will kind of cough and lose some power slightly and I have to give it more gas.
Does this help?
Carby rebuild on the cards?
It almost feels like it still sucking but getting no power. If that makes sense...
give matt berry a call and chat to him. he sorted mine real easy
Thanks Barls! I'll bell him tomorrow
