My 1776 had an internally regulated Alternator.
When it was installed I simply bypassed the reg under the back seat.
I am now going back to a generator and connected up the voltage reg again.
One thing I did notice is the loom in my '67 does not have the additional wire to connect the Generator body to the regulator body / ground.
My Generator light is hard on with the engine running, and I'm looking for some advice.
I found some details on testing the generator by isolating it from the car loom, and jumping DF to the generator body then measuring for voltage
between D+ and the generator body.
Im seeing the voltage increase with revs, peaking at about 30V. This is the result the test was supposed to yield which means the generator is
working, and the fault in the Regulator.
Can the regulators be tested?
Thanks.
