HD Gear-Box Mounts
DreamWeaver - March 3rd, 2015 at 03:29 PM

Interested in hearing some feedback/experiences - As I am looking do what has already been done in the following link: http://www.volksbolts.com/faq/gearbox-rear.htm

Similar to the above, I already have the CB rhino mounts - what I am look to achieve is to simply replacing the factory original cradle (that fits to the frame horns and holds the trans from the bottom) with the HD empi bottom mount - NOT THE STRAP, similar to the link above, to help support a bigger motor and new trans.

Simply speaking what I want to do is - retain my CB Rhino mounts & use the bottom of the empi HD trans mount; my question is: will the empi HD mount give me grief?

The reason for these specific parts to be used and not more full on tech is because it isn't a drag car and its pretty low, so I figure I can replace what is nackked, support the new set up and retain most of the ground clearance, and retain drive quality.

Ideally; ground clearance similar to the bellow image (although the image has a solid mount set up - no padding- from my research the ground clearance should be the same)

Your constructive feedback is welcomed

I bought my front mount mount from vee force racing, weld in mount takes a bit of time to fit but worth it.

Thanks for the pic, I looked in to this mod, ACN have a bolt in version however the concern I have is ground clearance.
Sitting just before the rear wheels it vulnerable to scrapeage.

Sway bar is lower and there has never been any issues with hitting anything, if your car is that low then you will have a problem, the bolt on mount from ACN does only half the job.
