Thinking of making a new shortened beam for my bug, does anyone have dimensions of what the main tubes are, offsets or shock tower dimensions?

the main tubes should be DOM or 350Mpa seemless tube but I don't have wall thickness specs etc at this stage

There's also a machined lip down in the tubes that the bushes butt up against if memory serves me. If you use the cruddy long urethane bushes then not a problem but if you use original micarta and needle bearing then the micarta will proabably move over time and mean the inner end of the TA becomes unsupported.

Just thought I'd throw that in there b4 you get started.

Just machine up some aluminium bronze bushes and Loctite them into the tubes, have not moved in 6 years. a lot less messing around with the original style of bush and will last longer.

thats not a bad idea, still deciding if i will make one from scratch or just cut down my OEM one
