So after a short bit of investigation I have found that the strange whiring noise I can hear only in the cabin is the alternator bearings, can't hear
anything when I lift the deck lid but removed the belt and the noise is gone, so after refering to my three books the closest I found was how to
remove the alternator and then take it to a repairer (HOW TO KEEP YOUR VOLKSWAGEN ALIVE)
so I'm about to remove the alternator, getting through the fuel injection stuff looks like a bit of a mission
Any hints before I start will be greatfully received.
Thanks
Don
mark anything you disconnect.
should only take them an hour to do the bearings.
Take photos with your camera/phone before you start anything. You can always refer back to it if required. My2c
I was planning on replacing the bearings myself, not a good idea?
