Hi, I have a 1970 VW Beetle and want to remove the fuel door release cable but the D handle has no circlips or screw. Does it screw off or is there a trick I should know.

Generally just a push on fit mate, mine used to come off all the time!

One type just unscrews and the other has a clip going through the handle. If it has the clip, hold the cable itself with a pair of needle nose pliers and gently turn the knob while pulling on it and it should pop off.
