I've got a 72 super bug and want to change to type 3 drums, What year type 3 drums are suitable to change into the superbug?
Also do I need to make any modifications to the drums or axles when changing them?

you have to machine a little off the snout to be able to fit them on,not sure about which year tho

I've got T3 drums on my oval. I didn't have to modify anything, it was a straight bolt-up. I think my drums came of a '72 wagon.

You'll need to get the whole brake assembly including the backing plate, hub, brakes shoes and springs etc. You can use your existing Sbug handbrake cable, bearings and bearing holder.

New parts to buy include wheel cylinders and drums. Mick Motors has good drums but the side walls are a bit thicker. You'll have to either get them machined from 7mm back to 3.5mm or use longer wheel bolts like Porsche 914. If you don't machine the drum your wheels will be 3-4mm closer to the guard. So if you already have minimal clearance be careful.

I think there's 2 wheel cylinders available. Get the bigger ones.

Type 3 drums are great. They don't bugger up your front to rear bias and they never seem to get too hot. When I circuit race the front disks cook but never the type 3 drums.
