New build - oil pressure and temp sender options

Hi all,

Looking for some ideas and opinions in relation to accurately monitoring oil pressure and oil temp. Here's the deal:

AS41 case (dual relief), oil plugs have been tapped and plugged, full flowed, will be running the CB oil tower breather, and the CB thin line oil sump. I also have a small oil cooler (approx 30cm x 15 x 8). Idea will be to plumb this cooler after the oil filter before the oil goes back to the case.

I want to keep the "idiot light" on the dash, but I also want an oil temp and pressure gauge. I also don't want to muck around with the two oil relief plug locations if it will affect how the plunger/switch will operate.

Any suggestions?

What senders? where?

Cheers
Hus

hey hus
i've been knocking around the same idea and trawling thru the rants on here and The Samba. "My position's better than your position...yada yada yada"
I've been wondering why there's very little mention of oil filter sandwich adapters https://www.autobarn.com.au/saas-oil-filter-sandwich-plate-universal
I've got a pump/filter combo

So running senders from the plugs in the sandwich plate ?

yep
Most I've seen have provision for 2x 1/8" NPT ports. I'm not sure whether this position is ideal for measuring temp and pressure, but figured it is a bolt-on modification and can be reversed with nil effects compared to most options I've seen people go with

I'm sure if you browsed a much more useful US or UK parts website you'd find all you'd need to have the remote filter with the cooler and somewhere to mount the sensors you're after.

Try Demon Tweeks or Ripspeed in the UK. They may not be VW specific but when it comes to the oil system of cars they are all the same and all generally use the NPT thread type of connector.
