Hey all,

I've watched videos of how to lift the rear end of a 66 and it seems simple enough, but I'm foggy on how to do the front end. Can I lift it about 2" with no major modification, or would I have to 'cut and turn'?

How do you do the 'cut and turn'? I'm a boilermaker so not worried about welding and fabrication.

Rear plates may need notching for clearance and hence illegal for on road use.

Front need the middle 3-4inches sliced thru so you can rotate the grub screw. This is what holds the torsion leaves into the central torsion leaf locator block. Jack the front up to the hieght you want plus 1/2 to 1 inch extra to allow for bodyweight. Tack the sliced thru sections in place and remove jack to check rid height after a gentle bounce. 4 good tacks on each cut should be enough to hold things for this step.
If happy with ride height then remove the beam to fully weld the centre section back into the beam.
If not happy mark the current centre section location, cut the tacks and try again.

Hey thats the best description of a non-adjustable adjustable beam I've heard..why didn't i think of that? cheers
