1916 Cracked case options?
vduboy - September 13th, 2016 at 08:34 PM

So my 1916 has a cracked case, the motor only has about 48,000 k's on it and not sure what to do with it.. It was going the best its ever gone since fitting the webers and 1.25 rockers, just a bit more incontinent than I am happy with! So I am going the Dark side with a EJ22 and Subarugears box.
My mate thinks I should re case it to try and get some coin back, honestly couldn't be bothered at this stage as I am still angry with it... I was wondering if anyone thinks it is worthwhile selling as is?

Depending on the spec of it and if selling with carbs, tinware etc then with an uncracked case you'd be looking at a good few thousand dollars for it.

In your case though the machining of 1600 case ontop of buying the case would take a fair chunk outta this.

I'd say search through the for sale section and see what things have sold for over the last year or more. I think you could make more as parts alone.

If you have good parts in it, then yes, selling broken down people can see what they are getting

If you are selling is as is........ might make it a bit hard.

Makinum gain would be to recase it your self

I'll have a think about I guess, I will be selling the gearbox great for a buggy with big tyres, the webers, exhaust, compufire dis-x system, electric pump with tachometric relay (100k's old) all separately.
I can always strip the block if/when I am bored or need something to do.
Cheers for the input guys. I appreciate it.
