Looking at fitting a camber compensator to a swing arm, 70 Beetle. Seems there are 2 types, one with straps over the axle tubes, and one that sits
below, with pads pushing up...
Is one design better than the other?
I have tried both, I run the swayaway type on all my swing axle cars with good effect, the type with the strap made the car harder in the suspension and removed it from the car, the swayaway type preloads the axle in the upwards direction and makes the first part of the suspension travel softer as it acts like a positive spring.
Thanks vwo60. Just the info I was hoping for!
