select-a-drop?
lowrider - October 19th, 2002 at 12:24 PM

Just looked under the front a Ghia I'm doing up
& it has a bracket on each of the torsion bar tubes with a connecting adjuster(?) bolt.
Is this a select-a-drop?
the adjuster nut is wound all the way off;
turning it up(clockwise) lowers the front??
Now I've put a motor in, the rear looks as though someone has dialled the rear down too.
thanks, Andy

That is one of the old style adjusrters, wind the nut up should lift the front not lower it, depending on which nut you are talking about.
They were a monster of an adjuster set up but seemed to work ok.

Wind it up to raise a select-a-drop, I think not! The bolt pulls the two torsion bars together, lowering (and stiffening) the front suspension. It was probably lowered past the legal limit, then cranked back up in order to sell (you'd love WA; no inspection on rego transfer!)

thanks for that...
I'll experiment a little & see what looks
the best!
