anyone has any idea or pictures of location for external oil cooler on a bug?

Above the gearbox is a reasonable spot. Not a lot of room to play with, but out of harms way.
I run a cooler above the drivers side axel its about 10" x 8" with a thermo fan attached to it, I got the fan at a bike recker so its tiny
and does the job well.
On a 40-45 degree day I don't get over 110 degrees.
I run a largish bugpack one, Its a 48 plate i think(?). the top is mounted at the corner above the gear box (where it goes from horozontal to vertical under the seat) and then the cooler runs back at 45 degrees and is supported by 2 rods. Works really well and never seen it go over 90 degrees, even in summer on the track, (8.5 :1 comp, 1776, etc)

there are many different ways of doing an external oil cooler. There is the oil pump plate... or the plate over the original oil cooler base with a
thermostat that opens the external oil cooler when the temp gets Hot !!... most are installed above the gearbox or axles... some have electric fans
and others depend on the cool air flowing under the car... the best part is:
Most external oil coolers also incorporate an external engine oil filter..... and help extend the life of Your Engine.. GREAT!!

I went for the above the gearbox/under the parcel shelf option, and use a 96 plate cooler with thermal fan.
It was a very tight fit, but works fantastic.
Cheers,
