for the past week my fuel gauge has been playing silly buggers. I filled the car up till it was nice and full (even to a little bit over full just to make sure it really was full) and the fuel gauge is telling me ive only got 1/2 a tank!! Now this isnt a good thing.
Ive had a look at all the wires going from the tank to the gauge and checked with a multimeter to see that everything was working as it is supposed to. ye olde trusty haynes manual doesnt exactly say what i should be doing next...

and id love to know what i should be doing next im sure that all ye with the infinite veedub wisdom will be able to shed a divine light on this situation.

i had the same problem in my kombi. it ended up being the sensor and sender unit in the tank. once replaced it was fine.
