I am having difficulty finding out what kind of fuel consumption to expect from different engine combinations.
What kind of fuel consumption do you get from your engines? what spec are they and what vehicle are they in?
just do a quick search has been talked about before
Hmmm, didn't get many replies...
Stocker gets about 32 mpg from memory (as claimed by VW.) Extractors can add 1-2mpg. An Engle W100 or equivalent will pull this back close to stock
(but it depends how you drive it,) but dual carbs will lift it back up there (Kadron/Solex.)
From there, a W110 with dual 40IDF's can give 28-30, wilder cams will dramatically increase consumption, usually (though stroking and boring can
offset this.) The best I've heard of with an FK8 is 24, but I think that was a pure highway run.
Hope that helps a little. Basically, once you get past about a W110 or equivalent, a heck of a lot depends on how well everything is matched and set
up, and how the car is driven.
My split kombi with the 1916 gets around 25 mpg in the city
1916 with twin Kads in an Oval,
early gearbox doing about 3600rpm @ 100km/h,
highway cruising,
29 - 30 mpg.
Pretty good I think.
Oval-34 pict-1916-mild cam-low comp- - 28 MPG suburbs " fanging it ".
Hiya dude, just in case you are imperially impaired i got 29mpg =9.7lp100k out of a 1300sp just before it was retired as it was about to bite the big
one,in a 67 beetle.
Herbie is getting about 11.24 klms/litre
which is 31.25 miles/gallon if my math is right.
but thats also fully loaded with 2 people and all the luggage.
Cheers Tony
Just to continue
Blue gets 8km/L round town and up to 14km/L on a run
Daisy gets 6km/L round town and up to 8km/L on a run
thanks for all the replies! they helped a lot.
