Hi

You can use Type 3 wagon bars, they are longer so you will need to change the spring plate and end cap. If you can find them Ovals have really strong rear bars, you will need to use the spring plates and caps as well.

I am trying to source some T3 rear torsion bars for the rebuild of the Oval cause I thought they were the go!

Can I (am I better off) use the ones out of the Oval and put them in the '70 chassis?

you can use the bars from a 944 they seem extra strong

Im prety sure that the oval bars are 26 mm thick and the spring plates are also much heavier. The 944 bars will only fit a 4 joint rear end.

I'm sorry guys but I am still none the wiser!!

I have a '70 floor pan with double spring plates that the Oval body is going onto. I have access to a set of T3 torsion bars if I want them, but if the ones off the old floor pan are better I'll use them. Please help.

You need the later model Type 3 bars. they are the thicker n stronger ones.

You have to adjust the ride height when yopu fit them

Hi

You need to use swinger torsion bars with swingers and 4 joint bars with 4 joint. The type 3 wagon bars are the only ones that are thicker and they are a factory option as heavier duty for bugs, fastbacks and notches.
